Rant of the Day
Restaurant options in suburban America. Day after day I deal with a constant struggle to find a decent place to eat lunch or dinner. Trying to avoid the typical fast food chains for something a little more exciting, healthy and somewhat inexpensive should be easy enough (or so you would think).
The obvious solution to this dining dilemma would simply be, well, don’t eat out. Last month I decided to go without fast food and try cooking for myself. I actually made some delicious dinners that weren’t too pricey, but cooking for just one person is really difficult. I ended up wasting a lot of food and making portions way too large for one person.
Whenever I come back to Salt Lake City from Shanghai I miss the ease of simply walking out your front door and down the street to any number of local restaurants that are not only good, but cheap and healthy. It’s not just limited to Chinese food either, but a wide variety of Western food too. The options are endless.
It’s my goal within the next month to find more alternatives to the boring eateries I too often frequent.
Balloons With Fishing Wire on Vimeo (via Vimeo)
Sometimes simple ideas + creativity produce the coolest end results. This looks to have been in a living room, and could have been shot in under 30 minutes. Yet the editing, music and simple concept of the balloons make for a really great video.
This video for Apparat’s Holdon is amazing. I also recommend checking out videos for:
